6-7-21 THOUGHTS
Last night our lesson was based on the word HOPE! How vital hope is to our living! Join me this morning in a few more thoughts on hope. We don’t get close to covering all!
Ps 31:24 Be strong and let your heart take courage, All you who hope in the LORD.
Ps 38:15 For I hope in You, O LORD; You will answer, O Lord my God.
Ps 42:5 Why are you in despair, O my soul? And [why] have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him [For] the help of His presence.
Ps 130:5 I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.
Acts 2:23-28 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. 24 "But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. 25 "For David says of Him, ‘I SAW THE LORD ALWAYS IN MY PRESENCE; FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN. 26 ‘THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUE EXULTED; MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE; 27 BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY. 28 ‘YOU HAVE MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE; YOU WILL MAKE ME FULL OF GLADNESS WITH YOUR PRESENCE.’
Rom 5:2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.
Rom 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
There are so many more powerful passages we could share on hope. We close in perhaps a strange place, because there is an action statement for us here.
Our BOLDNESS OF SPEECH IS TO SPRING FROM OUR HOPE!
2Cor 3:9-12 For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness abound in glory. 10 For indeed what had glory, in this case has no glory because of the glory that surpasses it. 11 For if that which fades away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory. 12 Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech,
Let me paraphrase here... The Old Testament Law came with great Glory, BUT the New Covenant in Christ is far more glorious, beyond comparison! Because of the surpassing glory of the HOPE OF THE NEW IN CHRIST, WE SPEAK WITH GREAT BOLDNESS!
There is a great lesson here.
My Prayer:
Thank you our God that we live in hope. Jesus Christ is our hope. Help us to see our Savior so clearly that we can joyfully with great zeal and excitement, tell His story with boldness! May we bear fruit as we lift up his name. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen
